About Eilir L. Rhys
I am a bisexual Welsh author from Llanfairpwll, Ynys Môn, with a background in web design and development and graphic design. My Welsh and Jewish heritage are both important parts of who I am, and I now live on the North Wales coast with my husband and our cat.
I write atmospheric mystery fiction rooted in North Wales, combining locked-room puzzles, gothic elements and queer relationships. Having lived with OCD for twenty years, I also draw on my own experiences when writing about mental health, particularly through my character, David.
My Tŷ Newydd Mysteries series begins with The Disappearing Trick, a locked-room mystery set around Penmaenmawr and the wider North Wales area. The second novel, The Plas Tân Phantom, continues the series with a new mystery on Ynys Môn.
When I’m not writing, I’m usually walking in the mountains or exploring old quarries and haunted places.
